Associate Project Manager

Location:  Bowie, Maryland, Columbus, Ohio; or Scottsdale, Arizona

Nimbis Services, Inc. is growing, and we are looking for an Associate Project Manager that can work from our Bowie, Maryland, Columbus, Ohio or Scottsdale, Arizona office.  This position will assist in managing various technology projects that incorporates Nimbis collaborative cloud platform in support of our commercial clients, non-profit National Institutes Initiatives, Department of Energy and the Department of Defense. This position will be responsible for all stages and types of cloud platform IT technology initiatives from proposal and requirements definition to project planning, agile software implementation, delivery and support. A major part of this position is to provide a proactive interface between the (1) internal DevOps team, product owners and management staff to ensure effective definition of and delivery of business applications, (2) external consultants and subcontractors and (3) ultimate Nimbis customer(s).  

Do you have a broad technical understanding and project coordination experience for commercial and/or government projects? What about experience with monthly status report generation; broad domain expertise and business analysis? If so we are interested in you! There may be some occasional travel required.

What you’ll do:

  1. Ensure that the right product is developed to meet or exceed company's quality standard and is delivered at the right time and fully supported.
  2. Work with Nimbis technical product managers and external customer stakeholders, to develop and track detailed business requirements for multiple projects with sometimes conflicting timelines and priorities; from concept to launch leveraging Nimbis common collaborative cloud platform.
  3. Track program against its schedule, budget and against phase review objectives.
  4. Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities.
  5. Coordinate with customers, to provide necessary program status and obtain customer feedback.
  6. Support requirements and plan project deployment and support.
  7. Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  8. Efficiently identifies and solves project issues.
  9. Design and produce reports, agendas, and minutes for technical project team meetings; set up and facilitate meetings where needed.
  10. Maintain project document archive in central location, including meeting notes, key decisions, technical and business requirements, work orders, technical scopes of work, and project plans.
  11. Facilitate the resolution of problems and issues related to conflicting technical requirements, overlapping timelines, conflicting priorities, and other cross-project issues that require coordination of staffing, timeline, and resources.

What we need:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent number of years’ experience.

5 years of technology project coordination and customer liaison experience.

Must be eligible to access export controlled (ITAR) equipment and data.

CAPM (Certified Associate of Project Management) Certification

PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification

Project Experience working with DoD (Department of Defense)

Agile Development/Software Development experience
