Abaqus/CAE Remote Desktop provides the user with a remote desktop session running Abaqus/CAE. Abaqus/CAE is a SIMULIA branded product of Dassault Systèmes providing a complete solution for finite element analysis (FEA) modeling, simulation, and visualization. The remote desktop encapsulation of Abaqus/CAE through a web portal was developed by the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC). We have integrated the portal into our technical computing marketplace offering on-demand access to Abaqus/CAE running on a graphics processing unit (GPU) visualization node at OSC. The remote desktop runs in your web browser through a virtual network computer (VNC) session to an account that will be configured for you at OSC. Tools are included for running parallel Abaqus solvers on HPC clusters as batch jobs and for uploading and downloading all job-related files to and from your account at OSC.
The HPC Hosting Plan: For users with their own Abaqus/CAE license, bring your keys to Nimbis and we will install and manage them at the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) and provide you with a remote desktop to your licensed software running at OSC. This plan offers a monthly pay-as-you-go service. Automatic payments are made or invoices are issued, depending on payment method, at the beginning of each calendar month for actual core hour usage over the previous month. Credit card information is secured by a payment processing service that is certified to Payment Card Industry (PCI) Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification available. Remote desktop sessions are opened and controlled entirely through your account dashboard in your web browser. OSC consulting on the use of Abaqus is available separately under the OSC Consulting Subscription service.
You purchase your license directly from SIMULIA or one of their Value Added Resellers (VARs). Our price is $0.07 per core hour for actual usage time on OSC compute clusters, billable at the beginning of each month for your previous month actual usage. There is no charge to "Buy" the product which will add it to your Dashboard. Charges accrue based on actual usage.
You must first register for access to the products listed in the Blue Collar Computing store. If you have not already registered, you will see a "Register" button instead of "Buy". After you register, the "Register" button will be replaced with "Buy". Clicking on the “Buy” button will take you through checkout. At checkout, payment will be made against the payment method, credit card or purchase order, that you have specified in your account profile. When you complete checkout, you will be redirected to your dashboard which will contain a ready session of the product.
