The Manifold Flow Predictor (MFP) is a web application that simulates Newtonian fluid flow through a manifold with one inlet and multiple outlets. The MFP allows a user to upload computer aided design (CAD) files describing the manifold geometry and specify the input fluid properties, boundary conditions, and number of simulation steps. The MFP performs a series of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) calculations to predict the fluid pressure and velocity at each manifold outlet. In addition, the user is provided with interactive visualizations of pressure gradients within the manifold. The CFD calculations are performed using OpenFOAM, an open source CFD software package. The MFP was developed by Procter & Gamble, hosted by the Ohio Supercomputer Center, and deployed as an on-demand cloud product by Nimbis Services.
The SaaS Plan: For users that have completed the Manifold Flow Predictor Startup Package, this software-as-a-service (SaaS) plan offers a monthly pay-as-you-go service. Automatic payments are made or invoices are issued, depending on payment method, at the beginning of each calendar month for actual core hour and software usage over the previous month. Credit card information is secured by a payment processing service that is certified to Payment Card Industry (PCI) Service Provider Level 1 which is the most stringent level of certification available. OSC consulting on the use of the Manifold Flow Predictor is avaialble separately under the OSC Consulting Subscription service.
