Mathematica on Amazon Cloud Licensing Service

With this service, Nimbis will create an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account and share that account with you through Amazon’s Identify Access Management (IAM) and provide you with instructions for creating, starting, and stopping your Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances, and connecting to them and uploading/downloading files to/from your instances. Nimbis manages the account for metering and billing purposes. We will install Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) into this account with our Mathematica cloud license preinstalled allowing you to choose Amazon instance types for your instance deployments. Our Mathematica license supports EC2 instance types from one core up to 32 cores with grid support to build applications that span a cluster of EC2 instances. There are no up-front fees for this service. A purchase of this service requires a credit card or purchase order on file for monthly billing for the previous month’s actual usage. Proceeding through checkout is a zero dollar purchase to establish your payment method and record the order. Set up usually takes less than five business days. Users must have an active Mathematica Standard Edition license to participate in this service.

There is a $99.00 USD setup fee charged to your payment method on file in your Nimbis account. For the pay-as-you-go service, the Nimbis price is 1.5 times the Amazon EC2 published price (http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/pricing/). This is an all-inclusive price covering our Mathematica license fee, account admin, and Amazon usage. For example, an Amazon EC2 instance with a published price of $1.00/hour would be charged to you at $1.50 per hour. The service includes:

- EC2 machine images with our Mathematica cloud license pre-installed
- Ability to upload and download files to/from your instance(s)
- Ability to start and stop your instance(s)
- Remote desktop for control of Mathematica on the head instance
- Backup configuration including daily snapshots
- Security configuration following Amazon's best practices

If additional consulting or technical support are required, please contact Nimbis. We have extensive experience working with customers to deploy their Mathematica applications on Amazon clouds.
